Catherine Louise Bass, age 88, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

She was born on April 3, 1934 in Burgaw, NC to the late Thomas Tate Bowden and Olga Mizerak Bowden.

Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who lived her life for her family. She was a bright light to many people and will be dearly missed.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Debbie Douglass (Earl), Barbara Brinkley (Mick), Rita Richardson, Cindy Koch (Rich), and Gail Stephenson; grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Jason, Derek, Erin, Katie, Julie, and Brittany; twelve great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Bass; and brothers, Joe Bowden and Bobby Bowden.

A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington with Pastor Roger Barnes.
