Charles Bert Afton Sr.

Charles Bert Afton Sr., age 87, of Wilmington, passed away on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, at Brunswick Cove Nursing Center in Winnabow, North Carolina.

He was born on March 5th, 1937, in Casnovia, Michigan to the late Harry Delenor Afton and the late Linneta Wright Afton.

Charles, a U.S Marine, is survived by his son, Charles Afton Jr.; his daughters, Debra Ellis and her husband, Dan, Cynthia Ward and her husband, Mack, Terri Afton; his brother, Carl Afton and his wife, Linda; his former wife, Betty Afton; his sisters, Joyce Baker, Sue Barendse, Harriet Doxtater, Delores Denhof and husband, Bob; his 7 grandchildren, and his 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charles is also preceded in death by his sister, Loretta June Russell.

Graveside services will be on December 30 at 12:00 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
