Constance Keasling Obituary

Constance Kay Keasling, age 78, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC.

She was born on September 7, 1943, in Hayes, KS to the late Don Curtis Emigh and Florence Mollie Pope Emigh.

Constance was a beautiful person inside and out, and a faithful believer in our Lord Jesus Christ.  She was a wonderful mother, and friend to all she met and a gracious host.  If you never got to meet her you truly have missed your chance to get the best hugs with three pats on the back and to sit at her beautifully decorated table.  However, being at her home and in her company was a warm embrace by itself.  Her cooking had no equal as many of us can attest.  She was someone who was not only a gifted watercolor artist and event planner, but a powerful prayer warrior,  and most of all the best mother, sister, and friend.  Our family saying is she curated her favorite things "pillows, plants, and pictures" not only because she loved them but she was always more concerned about what would make others comfortable.  If she met you for the first time, within minutes, she would know all about you, having skillfully struck up a conversation such that you were no longer strangers.  She regularly attended Northside Church in Wilmington NC and was a member of Campground Church in Fayetteville, NC prior to that.  She was an active member of Fayetteville Christian Women's club for many years. Her faith sustained her through the death of her husband Jim, the near loss of her home to Hurricane Florence and her battle with cancer. Throughout her treatments she fought with the same strength, grace and beauty that she displayed in everything she did.  Her focus, even until the end, was to make sure we were all together, as we know we will be again in eternity.

Constance is survived by her son, Brian J. Keasling (Liz); daughters, Michelle K. Jankite (John) and Brenda L. Holland (Tony); sister, Donna Meyers (Ron); grandchildren, Ashley Downton (Gage), Anna Holland, Zack Jankite, and Elyse Keasling; great-grandchildren, Evie Downton, Aiden Akins; nephew, Joseph Meyers (Paula); and niece, Leslie Davis (Bill).

In addition to her parents, Constance was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Keasling.
