Corporal Drew Tyler Mobley

Corporal Drew Tyler Mobley, age 22, of Wallace, NC passed from this life to his eternal rest on Monday, April 7, 2025.

He was born on June 24, 2002, in Wilmington, NC.  His proud parents are Joseph and April Mobley of Wallace. Drew was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Michael Burke and his paternal grandmother Carol Mobley. 

Drew loved his country and served in the US Marine Corp.  He also loved his community and served on the Teachey Volunteer Fire Department until going into service. 

Surviving in addition to his parents is his sister Emma Mobley of Wallace; his paternal grandfather Alton E. Mobley, maternal grandmother Valerie Burke, his uncles Cameron Mobley and Timothy Mobley; cousins Kyle Mobley, Paxton Mobley, Rachel Mobley, Lucas Mobley, Lindsay Mobley and Genesis Matthews; his best friend Logan Matthews and numerous extended family and friends that loved Drew dearly and was loved in return. 

Drew was a great son and loving big brother who had a big heart and loved everybody.  Throughout his short life, he quietly served others volunteering his time and talents.  Drew enjoyed serving on the fire department and playing the trumpet with the band.  He was a man of compassion and kindness was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors, friends and family.  Drew loved the men/women he served with in the Marines.  Fond memories were made while serving with them.  Although Drew's life was too short, he touched many while here on this earth.  Drew will surely be missed but he will never be forgotten.   

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Poston Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Jarman officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memorial Park with full military honors. 

Casketbearers will be Lance Corporal Michael Allen Snell, Corporal Oscar Vargas-Lugo, Cameron Mobley, Timothy Mobley, Kyle Mobley, and Ronnie Page.
