Dallie Mobley Maready, age 98, of Willard passed from this life to her eternal rest on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. She now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born on February 25, 1925, in Duplin County, NC; the daughter of the late Perry and Nancy Lanier Mobley. Dallie was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of sixty years, William “Bill” Maready; her sisters, Mary Mobley, Callie Hatcher and Adell Lanier; and her brothers, Woodrow Mobley, Alton Mobley, Hallie Mobley, Ervin Mobley, Perry Mobley and G.W. Mobley.
Dallie was a charter member of Penderlea Assembly of God Church since 1950. She was a dedicated and faithful to her church. Dallie loved Sunday School and served as a Beginner Sunday School teacher. She also served as Sunday School Secretary-Treasurer, Christ Ambassador (C.A.) president and Women’s Ministry president. Dallie loved her church and enjoyed working for the Lord.
She is survived by her devoted children, Nancy LaVoice Wells and husband William of Wallace, Jimmy Maready of Cleveland, NC, Frankey Maready and wife Donna of Watha; grandchildren, Jennifer Revelas and husband Nick, Jeremy Maready and wife Nicole, Josh Maready, Marc Maready and wife Kristen, Taylor Maready and wife Amber, Jason Wells and wife Tabatha, Michael Wells and wife Lauren, Jonathan Maready, and Greta Lassiter; twenty great grandchildren; sister, Gaynell Hunter of Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved Dallie dearly.
Dallie was a loving mother and caring grandmother who loved her family with all her heart. She was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace, “an instrument of God’s love on this earth.” Always a gracious homemaker, Dallie welcomed family and friends into her home, preparing a proper Southern feast where God was praised, the food blessed, and no one left hungry. She was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle and loving presence to all who were blessed to know her. Dallie looked for and encouraged the best in everyone that she knew; and was a shoulder upon whom many found comfort and solace. With a big heart and love for others, Dallie was willing to help anyone in any way she could. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. She will surely be missed but her legacy will continue to live on throughout the ages.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor Jim Marshburn officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00p.m., one hour prior to the funeral at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
