David Wayne Malpass

David Wayne Malpass, age 62, of Shallotte, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his home.

David was born in Wilmington on August 12, 1962, to Betty Louise (Carroll) Malpass and the late Gene Edward Malpass Sr.

David enjoyed golfing, card collecting, fishing, going to the mountains, softball, weather, watching planes, and shooting pool. He was known by many nicknames, such as Frind, Big Dave, Barney, Bubba, Jake, Papa and Big Dummy. David was dearly loved by his family and will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Johnathan Quinton Malpass and Dylan Andrews; daughters, Jessica Blake, Randi Malpass, Cienna Malpass; his sisters, Debbie Dennis and husband, Doyle, Janet Nutley and husband, Tommy; his grandchildren, Aidan Peeler, Kailey Fitzgerald, Amyah Malpass, Addison Malpass, Paisley Malpass, Olivia Rayne Blake, Myla Andrews; his sister-in-law, Amy Blackman Malpass, and his nieces, Kristie Soles and husband, Danny, Elizabeth Nutley, Natalie Haycox and husband, Connor, and Lillie Malpass.

In addition to his father, David was also preceded in death by his brother Eddie Malpass.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Paul F. Evans officiating.
