Diane Lee (Schappell) Latham

Diane Lee Schappell Latham, age 58, of Ivanhoe, NC, left this earthly life for her eternal rest. 

She was born in Mercer County, New Jersey; the daughter of Barbara Wood Schappell of Sebastian, Florida and the late Phaon Shappell. Diane is also predeceased by her husband, William Latham, who proudly served in the US Navy. 

Surviving, in addition to her mother, is her loving brother, Douglas "Doug" Schappell of Del Ray Beach, Florida and other extended famiy and friends that loved Diane. 

Diane was a loving daughter and caring sister who loved her family dearly.  She was a simple woman who enjoyed doing simple things. Being an great lover of animals, especiallly horses, Diane enjoyed being outside in God's wonderful nature.  She had great affection for the American Indian culture and collected art work and other artifacts of their culture. Diane was a proud American and was very loyal to American Vets and the US Military.   With a great sense of humor, she was a fun-loving person to be around.  She was a woman of compassion and kindness always ready to lend a helping hand to any one in need.  Most important, Diane had a deep and lasting love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She will surely be missed but we know that one day we will see her again and be together, forever with the Lord.
