Douglas Ryan Thomas

Douglas Ryan Thomas passed away on May 28, 2025, in Hampstead, North Carolina. Born on January 20, 1974, in North Carolina, he remained deeply rooted in the state throughout his life.

Douglas was a devoted father to his sons, Chadwick and Michael, and his daughters, Rossalyn and Marina. Alongside his children, Claudia, who shared many loving years with Douglas, remains to honor his memory. He took great pride in being a grandfather to Lucas, Jacob, and Astrid. He is also survived by his parents, Pamela and Douglas and his brother Richard.

A man who found solace and joy in nature, Douglas was an avid fisherman and surfer. The water was his sanctuary—whether casting a line or riding the waves, he embraced the rhythm of the sea with passion and peace. His love of travel led him to explore new places and experiences that enriched his life.

A memorial gathering will be held on June 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at The Gathering, 304 Wilmington Ave., Surf City, NC 28445. A paddle out on the beach will follow in tribute to Ryan’s enduring connection to the ocean.
