Earl "Tommy" Thomas Spencer, Jr.

     Earl Thomas “Tommy” Spencer, Jr., age 75, of Burgaw passed peacefully from his earthly life Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home.

     He was born December 29, 1945 in Wilmington, the son of Earl Thomas Spencer, Sr. and Lucille Evelyn Barnhill Spencer. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his sister, Daisy Wells and her husband, Roy, and brother-in-law, Gerald Whitley.

     Tommy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Eloise Spencer; sons, Earl T. Spencer III and John Allen Spencer and wife, Natalie; step-children, Teresa B. Childers, Steven A. Burns and Michael V. Burns and wife, Sandra; six grandchildren; one great grandson; sisters, Ellen Faircloth and husband, Russell, Nancy Giddens and husband, Charles, and Peggy Whitley; brother, Neal Spencer and wife, Wanda;  and many extended families.

     He graduated from Atkinson High School in 1965 and went on to become a great farmer and trucker. Tommy came from a large family, so we are recognizing his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and all who knew and loved him. We thank you for your love and thoughtfulness. May the Lord be with us all. We love you.

     A memorial service for immediate family will be held this week.
