Eddie Ray Ross, Sr.

     Eddie Ray Ross, Sr., age 80, passed from his earthly life on Monday, November 25, 2024, at home.

     He was born August 7, 1944, in Bladen County, the son of Carl Frank Ross, Sr. and Lillie Belle Elkins Ross. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette Hester Ross.  

     Eddie is survived by his sons, Eddie Ray Ross, Jr. (Jan) and Andrew “Andy” Kevin Ross (Susan); daughter, Janelle Ross Owens (Stephen); grandchildren, Sydney Ross, Connor Ross, Madison Owens, Brooklyn Owens, and Ross Owens; many extended family and dear friends.

     Eddie retired from General Electric, having worked in the Aircraft Parts Manufacturing and Nuclear Fuel Division.  

     In his younger years Eddie was an avid fisherman and enjoyed deer hunting. Eddie was a lover of nature and all of God’s creations. Eddie was known to be neat and tidy in all things, including his always manicured yard. Eddie was a master when it came to fixing things, a trait he has passed down to his sons. Above all Eddie loved his family – he was a devoted husband, a loving daddy and a super good granddaddy. Eddie was dearly loved and will truly be missed.

     The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. David Bays will conduct the service. The burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
