Elizabeth Claudette (Sheffield) Smith

Elizabeth Claudette Sheffield Smith, age 69, of Beulaville passed from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

She was born on August 3, 1954, in Duplin County; the daughter of the late Jessie and Gladys Mobley Sheffield.  Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Marvin Smith, Sr.; and siblings, Eddie Sheffield and Debbie Sheffield.

Surviving to cherish her memories are her children, Glenn Smith. Jr. and wife, Wendy of Roseboro, Angela Rickman and Hope Cortes, both of Beulaville; grandchildren, Joshua Lee Smith (Tina), Christina Marie Flores (Uriel) and Carlie Rackley; sisters, Judy Horne of Harrells, Diane Howard of Magnolia and Mary Cottle (Frank) of Rose Hill and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Elizabeth dearly. 

Elizabeth loved her family with all her heart.  She was simple woman who enjoyed the simplest things in life, but her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.  Elizabeth enjoyed fishing and shopping.  Her children referred to her as the “Dollar Tree Woman”.  Elizabeth also enjoyed going with her sisters to visit other family members in Concord.  She especially liked going out to eat at Golden Coral and Holland Shelter.  Elizabeth will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor Ray Kennedy officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Duplin Memorial Gardens in Teachey, NC.

Casketbearers will be James Rickman, Paul Chestnutt, Tommy Blanton, Corey Smith, Alex Smith and James Cottle.

The family would like to thank Mary Frances and Wendy Evans for all the love and support they gave to Elizabeth and her family.  It will never be forgotten.
