Ellen Heath Obituary

Ellen Ann Mobley Heath, age 81, of Wallace passed away peacefully at home in her sleep to her heavenly home on Monday, March 30, 2020.

She was born on March 26, 1939 in Duplin County to the late Jimmy and Annie Ruth Rivenbark Mobley.  She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband, Roy T. Heath, Jr., in May 2005; sisters, Nellie Reep and Mary Elizabeth “Polly” Hall and brothers, Hubert “Bud” Mobley and Jimmy “Bunny” Mobley.

Ellen loved the Lord, her church family at Wallace First Assembly of God and Pastor and Mrs. Bracken.  She diligently served in the church kitchen, the Blessing House and as a church greeter for many years.  Ellen was happiest when she was working for her Lord.

Ellen or “Mas” as her family called her, leaves behind her children, Tony Heath and wife, Ginger and daughter, Lisa Heath Mote; grandchildren, Jessi Spearman, Chad Heath and Stephen Mote; great grandchildren, Dylan Aldridge and Alex Aldridge; special nieces, Pam Reavis and husband, Dale and Jan Caison and husband, Gary; special cousins, Jeanette Raynor and Pansy Raynor; close friends, who were “Family” to her include Elaine English, Linda Parker, Dennis Mote, Vicki Dixon and L.D. Jones and numerous extended family and friends that loved Ellen dearly.

Ellen was a loving mother and caring grandmother and sister.  She was a warm, loving, creative lady who enjoyed sewing, making clothes, dolls and many other items throughout the years. She loved to cook and enjoyed making birthday cakes for everyone.  Ellen enjoyed crocheting right up until last week.  She dearly loved strawberries.  She collected many beautiful and unique strawberry-themed items over the years.  Ellen loved almost everything red, ice cream and catfish.  She was “an instrument of God’s love on this earth” and will surely be missed. Treasured memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved Ellen.
