Elwood Larry Myrick

Elwood Larry Myrick, age 74, of Rose Hill left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Thursday, August 22, 2019. 

He was born on June 16, 1945 in Smithfield, NC; the son of the late Robert F. and Mildred Creech Myrick.  He was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Myrick.

Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Judy Sheffield Myrick of the home; his son, Robert “Rob” Myrick and wife, Teresa of Wilmington; his daughter, April Griffith and husband, Patrick  of Texas and 3 grandchildren, Chelsea Walker, Alex Deal and Preston Myrick; his brother, Joseph Myrick and wife, Wanda of Rose Hill and numerous extended family and friends that loved Larry dearly.

Larry was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and brother.  He found great joy in the simplest of things, but his greatest joy was family.  Larry attended Divinity School at Duke University where he was licensed for the ministry. He served in the ministry and pastored for over 15 years. During this time, Larry acquired many friends and acquaintances that he cherished throughout the years.  Larry was full of life and loved people.  He enjoyed fishing and was an avid and talented woodworker.  Larry will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.  

Memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Woodland United Methodist Church, 2695 Tram Road, Albertson, NC  28508.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial gifts be made to Woodland United Methodist Church, 2695 Tram Road, Albertson, NC 28508 or Seven Springs United Methodist Church, 570 NC 55, Seven Springs, NC 28578.
