Elwood Nathan Robinson, 78 of Riegelwood, NC met his Lord in the evening of Saturday, April 9, 2022.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Nathan Robinson and Pauline Bigford Robinson and an infant sister, Betty Ann Robinson.
Elwood was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Before his health declined you could often find him fishing in Black River or the ocean. He found peace while on the water. He had two special friends, Robert Moore and Kevin Mott. For a number of years Elwood worked at Wright Corporation and Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Elwood then went out on his own as owner and operator of Robinson Logging and Robinson Hauling for numerous years. Elwood enjoyed life and most importantly his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Robinson Pridgen (Ronnie) of Riegelwood, two sons Anthony "Tony" Robinson (Danene) of Kelly, and Bryon Robinson (Elise) of Leland; ten grandchildren, Amber Coleman (Chad), Brook Phelps (Nick), Trisha Robinson, Megan Robinson, Alex Robinson, Alleigh Robinson, Dylan Robinson, Jaxson Robinson, East Toms and Makenna Toms; and five great-grandchildren, Caitlin Gore, Brycen Coleman, Colbie Coleman, Gavyn Phelps, and Memphis Phelps. Not to be forgotten is Elwood’s very special canine companion, Trixie.
The family will receive friends 1 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Natmoore Baptist Church with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Zachary Jacobs conducting the service.
Burial will follow the church cemetery. Casketbearers will be Nick Phelps, Chad Coleman, Robert Moore, Kevin Mott, Bill Whaley and Alex Robinson.
The family would like to thank Community Hospice for all their excellent care and support during Elwood's final days. On behalf on the whole family, we would like to extend a sincere thanks to a very special CNA, Latoya Steele.
