Eury Bryant Dyson, age 92, of Lake Creek Community, Ivanhoe, passed peacefully from this life to his heavenly home June 4, 2023.
He was born on January 17, 1931 at the home of his parents Dock King Dyson and Mary Edna Horrell Dyson in Ivanhoe. Also remembered are his wife of 58 years Eula Lee Dyson; brothers, Dock King Dyson Jr. and Bryan Vance Dyson, all who preceded Eury in death.
Eury is survived by his children, Eury Delane Dyson and wife, Jill of Anacoco, Louisiana, Anthony King Dyson and wife, Janice of Sanford, Amy Dyson Evans and husband Pastor Tim Evans of Wade; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; brother, Earl Dyson of Pennsylvania and many extended family and friends.
Eury proudly served his country during the Korean war in the US Army.
Eury loved his family and was the best husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend that anyone could ask for. He filled his life with Christian faith, joy, laughter, caring and sharing. His memory is blessed and cherished.
For many years Eury served as a deacon at Rowan P.F.W.B Church where he also taught Sunday school.
Eury wore many hats! Farmer, Bricklayer, Forman, Superintendent, Taught Bricklaying at Camp Lejeune, Fort Bragg and the Job Corps Center in Cherokee, NC. After retirement he became a blueberry Farmer until he was in his upper eighties.
The Lord greatly blessed Eury with a safe place to live out his last days and people around him that lovingly cared for him. He was well loved and respected by the staff at Heritage Place, Village Green, and Carolina Rehabilitation. The Dyson Family will be forever grateful to the staff that cared so much for our Dad.
The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Rowan Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Pastor Rodney Faircloth and Pastor Jerome Bullard will conduct the service.
Interment will follow in Dyson Cemetery.
