Evelyn Doris (Rogers) Stallings

Evelyn Doris Rogers Stallings, age 86, of Wallace, NC left this earthly life for her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from her home.

She was born on August 8, 1934 in Duplin County, NC and was the last of 11 siblings born to the late Kirby and Dolly Mobley Rogers.  She is also predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Cameron Lee Stallings; her daughter, Carol Lee Mobley; her son, Ricky Glenn Stallings; her siblings, Louise Detez, Violet Hatcher, Thomas Rogers, Kirby Rogers, Jr., Roy Rogers, Lloyd Rogers, David Rogers, Linwood Rogers, Ralph Rogers, Daryl Rogers, and Elmo Rogers and her Dalmatian canine companion "Ms. Dotty".

Mrs. Stallings was a devoted life-long member of Poston Baptist Church where she once served as Sunday School teacher. 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, David Stallings of Wallace and Peggy S. Mills and  husband, Wayne of Wallace; grandchildren, Amanda M. Evans and husband, James; Cameron Mobley, Joseph Mobley, Timothy Mobley and Shane Mobley; great grandchildren, Felicity Evans, Joshua Evans, Devin Evans and Brady Thompson; her feline friend, "Chey"; caregiver, Enrika Jones; special friend, Eleanor Thompson, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Evelyn dearly.

Evelyn was a wonderful mother and caring grandmother who loved her children with all her heart.  She found great joy in the simplest of  things, but her greatest joy was her family. She a great cook and enjoyed cooking (and eating), along with pretty flowers and shopping.  Evelyn loved the Lord. She was always concerned about her family getting saved and knowing Jesus as their personal Savior.  The Lord blessed Everlyn with a beautiful voice and she used that voice to further His Kingdom by singing in a group when her health permitted.  Evelyn was a  woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace; and to those who knew her, “an instrument of God’s love on this earth.”   She will surely be missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.  

Graveside service will be held at 1:00p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Riverview Memorial Park with Pastor Chris Jarman officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be given to Poston Baptist Church Building Fund, 4121 S NC Hwy 11, Wallace, NC  28466.
