Ferdinand “Faison” Sloan, 63, of Wallace, North Carolina left his earthly life for his eternal rest on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.
He was born on October 25, 1961, in Sampson County, the son of the late Charles David Sloan Sr. and Margaret Faison Sloan. He was also preceded in death by his brother Charles David Sloan, Jr.
Faison was a graduate of Mount Olive University in Mount Olive, North Carolina.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his sister Nell Sloan of Wallace; his two nieces Jade Goodman (Josh) and their son Asher from Phoenix, Arizona and Blanche Player (Jarryd) of Travelers Rest, South Carolina and daughter Elena; Faison also leaves behind his aunt Dorothy Faison of Clinton; two special cousins Plato Faison (Jan), their son Wyman Faison (Samantha) and daughter Ella; Henry Faison (Crystal), their daughter Isabella and son Elias, and several other cousins; sister-in-law Debbie Wood (Mike). Last but not least he leaves his best friend Jimmy Blanton and his furry friend “Panda” and numerous extended family and friends that loved Faison dearly.
Faison was a loving brother and caring uncle, cousin and friend. He was an avid sports fan of UNC Tarheels and the Dallas Cowboys. With a sweet and funny personality, he was easy to talk to and carry a conversation with. Faison enjoyed going to the Book Store to listen to jokes and stories told by Harvey Knowles and Mark Grady. He also enjoyed visiting Elite Fitness where he enjoyed the fellowship as well as the exercise. Faison was a great listener and was always ready to help others. Being a loyal and honest man, Faison was a true friend. Most of all, family was most important in his life, and he loved them with all his heart and was loved in return. Faison will surely be missed but he will never be forgotten.
Funeral service for Faison will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Wallace Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Robert Lapp officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, one hour prior to the service in Currie Hall at the church.
Private family burial will be at Sloan Cemetery.
