Franklin Dean Pierce, 67, passed from his earthly life Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw.
He was born September 22, 1957 in Rose Hill, the son of Herman Lee Pierce and Etta Lee Dail Pierce, both who preceded Franklin in death.
Franklin is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda Pierce; children, Kirk Johnson (Sonja), Paul Johnson (Michelle), Holly Johnson (Wesley Tyler), and Jeffery Johnson (Amber); nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Baysden and Velma Jones; brother, William Pierce; Franklin’s best friend, Larry Murray; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Franklin was a family man at heart as he loved them all, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed putting a pig on the big grill and having a fun gathering of family and friends. Franklin loved country music, football, NASCAR racing, and just being outdoors in the sunshine. Franklin was loved and will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Quinn-McGowen Burgaw Chapel with Mr. Joey Sadusky and Mr. Gary Cole conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.
Franklin’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to the ER staff of Pender Memorial Hospital and to Union Rescue Squad for all they did for Franklin and family in the early hours of July 17, 2025.
