G. Hunter Hieronymus, 29, of Wilmington, NC, peacefully went to be with the lord and his parents on May 24, 2021.
Hunter was born in Wilmington, NC, to the late George Lee and Julie Adkins Hieronymus. He lived his entire life in Wilmington and took great pride in being a local.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Hunter held a vast love and knowledge for everything associated with the ocean and nature. He worked as a fisherman and marine laborer, enjoyed surfing and skateboarding, and had a green thumb. As a skilled guitar player, Hunter was passionate about music.
Hunter lived a life guided by his intuition. He was a soul of great empathy who truly cared for those he encountered, especially his family and daughter, Ava, whom he most adored. He particularly enjoyed expressing his love by preparing made-from-scratch seafood dishes for his friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Ava Leigh, of Hampstead, NC, sister, Magge Hieronymus, of Long Beach, CA, long-time friend, Maci Chaucer, of Hampstead, NC, and grandmother, Susie Adkins, of Wilmington, NC, along with many cousins, aunts, uncles, and family members.
A memorial service will be held this Wednesday, June 2nd, at 8am, Wrightsville Beach access #34, and will be immediately followed by a paddle-out in his honor. Beach chairs are welcome and recommended. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to support Ava and Magge through this difficult time via https://gofund.me/54e2d8cc.
