George William Fowler, Jr.

     George William Fowler, Jr., 67, of Currie passed gently from his earthly life Sunday, September 5, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

     He was born April 26, 1954 in Wilmington, the son of George William Fowler, Sr. and Cecile Gainey Weaver. In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Spivey and brother, Kenny Williams.

     George is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jo Ann Fowler; sons, James W. Fowler and Anthony “Tony” Paul Fowler; grandchildren, James “JJ” Fowler and Kassidy Fowler; sisters, Linda Brown (Roy), Cheri Bundy (Wayne), and Pam Lewis (Buddy); brothers, Mike Williams (Ruth) and Steve Williams (Marsha); many extended family and friends.

     He was a faithful and active member of New Beginnings Community Church.

     George was a devoted husband and a loving father, granddaddy, brother and loyal friend. He loved his Lord, lived a Christian life, and was a hard worker, always doing his level best in everything he undertook. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

     His Lord said unto him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:23.  

     A service of remembrance will be held at a later date.
