Geraldine "Gerry" (Miller) Padgett

Geraldine "Gerry" Miller Padgett, 85, of Watha, NC passed from this life to her eternal rest on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born on June 7, 1936 in Pittsburg, PA to the late Johnny and Florence Williams Miller.  She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years, Larry Thomas Padgett and her brother, Frank Miller.

Geraldine proudly served her country in the US Air Force.  She is a member of Watha Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving to cherish her memories is her son, Gerald Padgett of Willard, her daughter, Kimberly Padgett and husband, Mike Garriss of Watha; grandchildren, Blake Garris and his wife, Candice and Sarah Garriss; sisters, Delores Granda, Ann Gladys and Mary Wasson, all of Meadville, PA; sisters-in-law, Alma Padgett, Sherry Bond and Sylvia Pierce, all of Watha; special canine companion, "Presley" and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

"Gerry", as she was affectionately known, was a loving mother and caring grandmother, sister and friend.  She enjoyed the simplest things in life but her greatest joy was her family, including "Presley", whom she dearly loved. Gerry was a very hard worker who enjoyed 'working'.  No job seemed to be too hard for her to do. Gerry had a big heart and would do anything she could for anyone in need.  She loved her church family, going to church and she especially enjoyed joking with her pastor.  Gerry's favorite pastime was shopping and spending time with her family and friends.  She loved to laugh, have fun and live life.  Gerry will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Gerry.

Graveside service will be held with military honors at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Watha United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Clint Jones officiating.

Visitation and viewing will be from 1:30pm to 2:00pm on Sunday at Watha United Methodist Church Cemetery.
