Glenda Hobbs Wooten, age 72, of Maple Hill passed peacefully from her earthly life Sunday, September 12, 2021.
She was born January 22, 1949 in Onslow County, the daughter of George Thomas Hobbs, Jr. and Helen Hoffman Hobbs. In addition to her parents Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wooten; and brother, Gurman Hobbs.
Glenda is survived by her son, Chuck Wooten (Delean); daughter, Lisa Wooten Dixon; grandchildren, Gabrielle Wooten, Brian Knowles (Kelsea), and Stephen Knowles (Katie); great grandchildren, Parker Knowles, Wyatt Knowles, Chanse Osik, Chesten Osik, and Payton Knowles; sisters, Janet H. Wooten (Jerry), Pamela H. Marshburn (Dennie) and Jobyna Hobbs; brothers, Thurman Hobbs (Carrie), and Curtis Hobbs (Beverly); many nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends.
Loving all of God’s wonderful world of nature, Glenda spent hours in her yard tending to the beautiful flowers that she grew. Not only did Glenda plant flowers, but with her green thumb she could get anything to grow. Most of all Glenda loved and cared for her family; her grandchildren and great grandchildren were joy and light in her life. Glenda’s radiant smile, joyful laughter, faith in her Lord, and dedication to her family will long be remembered.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at Charles Wooten Cemetery in Maple Hill with Pastor Chris Phillips and Pastor Gary Manning officiating.
The family will visit with friends at the cemetery following the graveside service.
