Gloria Jean Teachey Watson, 84, of Watha, North Carolina passed from this life to her new eternal home in Heaven.
She was born on February 9, 1941, in Pender County and was the daughter of the late Elbert and Thelma Marshburn Teachey. Gloria was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William “Willis” Walter Watson; their daughter Cynthia Lee Watson; son William David Watson; granddaughter Amanda Lee Hall; brothers Dennis Teachey and Arnold Marshburn; and sister-in-law Barbara Padgett Marshburn.
Gloria was a lifelong member of Watha PFBW Church where she was a true servant of the Lord.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her daughter Sharon Rivenbark (Jeffrey Coco) of Watha; grandchildren Stephanie Lynn Hall (Angel), Tommy Watson (Kelsey), Will Giddings (Tracie), Matthew Giddings (Bria), Winter Faith Gregson (Tanner); great grandchildren Christina, Ashley, Patrick, Kimberly, Owen, Elli and Ava; sister-in-law Dianne Teachey of Watha; daughter-in-law Lola Watson Murray (Ronnie) of Wallace; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved her dearly.
Gloria was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and sister. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. Gloria was a woman of uncommon character, beauty and grace; and to those who knew her, “an instrument of God’s love on this earth.” She was a friend to all, a strong yet gentle presence who looked for and encouraged the best in everyone. Gloria enjoyed house plants and loved having them in her sunroom. She was a loving and compassionate caregiver. Most of all, Gloria loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and is now in His arms forevermore. She will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will forever remain in our hearts.
