Grace Elizabeth Piner Fry

Grace Elizabeth Piner Fry, 77, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Grayson Creek Assisted Living in Welcome, NC, with her three daughters by her side.  

She was born on February 16, 1944, in Wallace, NC to the late Joe and Bethel (Brinkley) Piner.

Grace devoted her life to her three girls, raising them as a single mom. She spent the last 25 years caregiving for the elderly and bringing much joy to their lives. Grace loved living at the beach, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She found joy in the little things in life, such as, sitting on the porch, snapping beans, and cracking pecans with her family.

Grace is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Padgett and husband, J., Robbie Jean Rogers and husband, Michael, Patti Trimble and husband, Darren; brother, Bruce Piner; sister, Sammie Salter; grandchildren, Justin Stewart and wife, Alexandra, Ashleigh Sweat and husband, Stephen, Jordan Rios and husband, Jesse, Casey Padgett and wife, Brooke, Connor Trimble and wife, Mary, Riley Padgett, Lexi Rogers, Emily Padgett, Cameron Padgett, Morgan Padgett; great grandchildren, Kaiden, Katalina and Kazador Rios, Natalie and Avery Padgett, and Luke Sweat.

In addition to her parents, Grace was also preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Davis.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Piner Cemetery in Wallace with Doug Medlin officiating.
