Graham Devern Howard

Graham Devern Howard, age 80, left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from Vidant Duplin Hospital. 

He was born on Janaury 10, 1941 in Pender County and was the son of the late Lonnie C. and Letha Crews Howard.  He is also predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia Futrell Lewis, and his siblings, J.D. Howard, Shirley H. Mobley and Donna Herring. 

Mr. Howard attended Wells Chapel Baptist Church. 

Survivng is his best friend and wife of 47 years, Carolyn Moore Howard of the home; their children, Billy D. Howard and wife, Darlene of Rose Hill, Ricky Howard of Beulaville, Tina Bain and husband, Johnny of Rocky Point, Lonnie Howard and wife, Johnna of Wallace, Graham Howard, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Wallace and Charlene Meshaw and husband, Kenny of Wallace.  Graham was also blessed with 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Also surviving, are Graham's siblings, Iris Ray Rackley of Willard, Bonnie Mobley of Fountaintown, Samuel Howard and wife, Peggy and Lee Howard, all of Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Graham dearly.

Graham was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and brother.  He enjoyed the simple things in life but his greatest joy was his wife, Carolyn and their children.  He was a great husband who loved his wife as the Bible says one should; "as Christ loved the church".  It has been said that "no one loves like Graham loves Carolyn".  He was the "love of her life" and she was his.  Graham enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.  He loved the Lord and was a true man of God.  Graham and Carolyn has set a great example during the years for their children and grandchildren to follow.  Graham will surely be missed but never forgotten.  His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Wells Chapel Church Cemetery with Pastor Barry Wells officiating. 

The family will be meeting at the home of Charlene and Kenny Meshaw in Willard.
