Greggory Alexander “Alex” Henderson, 24, of Maple Hill, beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and good friend departed his earthly life unexpectedly early Monday morning, March 30, 2020.
He was born August 12, 1995 in Wilmington and was the son of Greggory Henderson and Gloria Gail Henderson.
In addition to his parents Alex is survived by his sister, Autumn Whitley (Chris); brother, Scott Clark (Kate); grandmother, Lora Mae Henderson; nieces and nephews, Ashley Clark, Ally Clark, Abby Clark, Aiden Burton, Kaelee Porter, and Titan Zane; many aunts, uncles and cousins, all who loved Alex.
Alex was preceded in death by his brother, Shane Pridgen, who was granted his wish (a trip to Hawaii by Make-A-Wish Foundation). Shane went home to join the angels at the young age of 9.
Alex was a beautiful light who cast a beacon of love, laughter, and genuine kindness to all who crossed his path. Alex never met a stranger and was quick to offer his smile, words of encouragement, or the shirt off of his back. Once he met you, you were forever in his heart and he in yours. Alex was strong hearted and strong willed. His greatest gift was the joy he brought others through his laughter with the warmth of his love and friendship that he offered freely. Alex loved his family with all his heart. Alex’s passing leaves a big hole in our hearts and in our family circle.
Due to current health concerns a memorial service for Alex is planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers a tribute in honor and memory of Alex may be given to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 3809 Computer Drive, Unit 201, Raleigh, NC 27609 or http:www.wish.org
Shared memories and condolences may be sent to the family by selecting Tribute Wall.
