James Arthur Fales, Jr.

     James Arthur Fales, Jr., 67, of Atkinson passed gently from his earthly life on Friday, October 13, 2023.

     He was born December 20, 1955 in Tacoma, Washington, the son of James Arthur Fales and Ida Pearl Boswell Fales. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Fales; and sister-in-law, Susan Fales.

     James is survived by his loving family; his wife of 41 years, Jacqueline Fales; son, Allen Fales (Patricia); daughter, Lauren Fales (Anthony Hargrove); grandchildren, Austin Smith, Annabelle Fales, Abigail Fales, Autumn Fales, and Alexander Hargrove; brother, Donald Fales; sister-in-law, Suzanne Fales; special cousin, Betty Matthews; and several nieces and nephews.

     James retired from the City of Wilmington as a supervisor in the Storm Water Division.

     He was known as a “Do it yourselfer” as he was blessed with the talents of being able to fix anything. His passions in life were NASCAR, his 650 Yamaha motorcycle, professional football games, and black coffee in both summer and winter. Most of all he loved and cared for his beloved family. He was a devoted husband, loving daddy, granddaddy, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. We know James is in his heavenly home, but there remains an empty place in our hearts. He will be forever loved and remembered.

     A memorial service will be at a later date.
