James Lloyd Shifflett II

James Lloyd Shifflett II "Skippy" went home on September 18, 2025 with his daughters, Carrie, Niki and Heather holding him.

Born November 6, 1955 to his surviving mother, Betty Jean Faris and his father, who proceeded him in everlasting life, James Lloyd Shifflett.

Skippy was truly one of a kind. He was onery, hard headed, and the kindest and most humorous man anyone could be lucky enough to know. Skippy was one of the last of the Batesville Boys! Archived article to be found with the Daily Progress in Charlottesville VA.

Hitchhiking from VA to Tampa FL several times in his youth, getting a ride from Art Garfunkel once, he was always up for adventure! The stories are so numerous and should be told. I think we will, at some point.

Skippy is preceded in glory by his father, James, whom he adored, and his grandson Blake.

He is survived by his daughter Heather and husband, Greg Thacker. Daughter Carrie and her husband Adam Bryant. Sister to his daughters, Niki Harris, whom he loved as his own through all her years. His grandchildren, Bailey, Brandon, and Bethany Byrant. His sisters, Krystal Shifflett and Pixie Chauncey. Neice, Terin and nephew Jacob.

A private celebration of his life will be held in Batesville, VA at a future date.

His girls thank the staff and residents of Woodbury Wellness for the amazing care, love and friendship over the past two years.
