James "Jim" Edward Milam

      James “Jim” Edward Milam., age 65, of Burgaw passed peacefully from his earthly life Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Hospital in Wilmington following a brief illness.

     He was born March 30, 1956 in Los Angeles County, California, the son of Johnny Owings Milam and Joyce Mae Bloemers Milam. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Jana McKinney and her husband, Dennis.

     Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pamela “Susie” Tokoly Milam; sons, James “Jamie” Edward Milam, Jr. and wife, Stefanie and Michael Anthony Milam and wife, Christina; grandchildren, Lauren “Lexi” Milam, Brayden Milam, and Noah Milam; brothers, Johnny Owings Milam, Jr. and wife, Brenda, Jay Stuart Milam and wife, Teresa, Joel Boyd Milam and wife, Terry, Jerry Blakely Milam, and Jason William Milam and wife, Crystal; and many extended family and friends.

     Jim loved his family more than anything in this world. He took pride in being a loving husband, a great father, and a wonderful Pop to his three precious grandchildren. He could often be seen feeding the fish in his pond or out fishing with his grandkids. He never met a stranger or missed his morning breakfast. If you needed a mint, he had a pocket full. He was full of jokes, old stories, and witty comebacks. His legacy and kindness will live on through his sons and the memories of him will last forever.

     Graveside memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 6075 Stag Park Road, Burgaw, NC. Mrs. Judy Jeremias and Pastor Sherry Coombs will conduct the service. Casual attire for everyone is requested.

     Following the graveside service, the family will receive friends at the home of Jim and Susie Milam in Burgaw.

     To Jim’s many friends and family: Susie, Jamie and Michael would like to thank you for every kindness shown…prayers, visits, cards, flowers and genuine expressions of concern.  We thank God, our Heavenly Father, for the gift of family and  friends. We pray His eternal blessings to all.

     In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Westview United Methodist Church, 5610 NC Hwy 53 W, Burgaw, NC 28425.
