Jana Marie Wiggins

Jana Marie Wiggins, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and wife, passed away on October 8th, 2024, in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. 

Born in Alexandria, Virginia, on January 20th, 1974, to Harry L. Wiggins, Jr., and Sandra McKee Wiggins, Jana had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid snowboarder, with a special love for Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin) in Colorado, as well as Jackson, Wyoming, and Lake Tahoe. A great cook and animal lover, she embraced life with a lighthearted spirit, finding joy in good food, live music, and fun times with family and friends. Many of her favorite music filled nights were at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Jana also enjoyed spending time with her friends and classmates from Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia, and Longwood University. 

A devoted friend and mother, Jana touched the lives of many with her vibrant spirit and kindness and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Jana is preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, Craig McKinnis, and their two children, Jake and Phoebe, whom she adored. She will be greatly missed by her mother, her sisters Ashley (Mary Beth) and Joelle Wiggins, as well as numerous relatives, friends, and animals who loved her.

A celebration of Jana's life will be held at a later date to honor and remember her.
