Janice Kelly Corbett, 83, of Kelly, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare surrounded by her family. Janice was born in Bladen County on August 6, 1937 to the late Sinclair and Hattie Lee Russ Kelly.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harry Milton Corbett, Jr.; brother, Robert Kelly; and her three sisters, Dorothy Reher, Judy Sawyer, and Carol Vereen.
Janice is survived by her sons, Phil S. Corbett and Randall Corbett; grandchildren, Amanda Villari (Joe) and Forrest Sinclair Corbett; great granddaughter, Sage Elizabeth Villari; sister, Alice (Rita) Benjy; and her two Chihuahua’s, Cookie and Buster who were her companions.
Janice loved playing women’s softball. She coached a women’s championship softball team in the 70’s. In her spare time, she also liked to garden and sew. She has sewn many dresses for her granddaughter who also shares the same birthday as Janice. Going to church with her family and singing gospel songs together was something Janice always looked forward to. She will be missed dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Garden of Memories, 16550 NC Hwy 53 East, Kelly with Reverend Allen Murray officiating. A public walkthrough visitation will be held Friday, March 5, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
