Jeanne Brooks

Jeanne Brooks passed away on May 3rd 2025, peacefully at her home in Rocky Point with her husband and daughter by her side.

She was born in Blackburn, England on May 22nd 1932 to Fred and May Hodkinson.  They preceded her in death as did her sister, Marjorie  Shorrock; and her daughter, Janet Kay Price.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Ken; daughter Kathy Behnken and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Jeffery Coble and wife, Ashley, Catie Zelaya and husband, Jose, and Carly Price.   Also great grandchildren, Kathryn Coble, Rylie Coble and Matthew Zelaya.

Jeanne grew up and was educated in England. She was always an English Lady.  A caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a wonderful wife to Ken for over 70 years. She will be greatly missed.

Following Ken and his work, Jeanne lived in several places in England, Canada, New Jersey and North Carolina.  Emigrating four times and never complaining.  Always making a loving home wherever we went.

She was Ken’s right hand man at their Special Machinery Company in Charlotte, and when it came time to retire, she chose Wilmington. For two reasons, a nice place to live, plus our daughter Kathy and grandson Jeffery lived there.

For the next 16 years, twice a year, Jeanne and Ken toured the World.   Visited every country on their bucket list, plus many American States.

It was a life well lived.  Thankyou Jeanne, from all who knew you.
