Joey Dean Lewis, 62, of Rocky Point, North Carolina passed away on July 02, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born In Bladenboro, NC on November 29, 1962 to the late Homer and Carolyn (Turner) Lewis.
Joey lived a full and spirited life and had a generous heart. He poured his energy and passion into his family. He often traveled to the Smokey Mountains on his Harley Davidson bike. He had a passion for animals and enjoyed cat fishing in his free time.
Joey shared 23 years of love with his beloved wife, Wendy, and together they built a home filled with laughter and adventures. He was the proud father of five children, Alison Richardson (Stewart), Gregory Lewis (Sarah), Joseph Long (Amber), Kara Lewis (Buddy), Samantha Long (Spencer); and the adoring grandfather to six grandchildren, Turner, Dru, River Lilley, Everleigh, Liam, and Joseph who brought immense joy to his life.
Known for his boundless energy and warm presence, Joey never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Joey had a quick wit, a sharp mind, and was a jokester. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and feel at ease. His intelligence and humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Joey will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his love of the land, and his ability to bring a smile no matter the situation.
The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025 with the memorial service starting at 4:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Community Church in Currie, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pender County Animal Shelter, 3280 New Savannah Rd, Burgaw, NC 28425, or the Pender County Humane Society, PO Box 626, Burgaw, NC 28425. If you do send flowers, the family requests that you have them delivered to the church after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 or before noon on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
