John Timothy "Tim" Mills

John Timothy “Tim” Mills, 92, of Willard left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Monday, April 11, 2022, from New Hanover Regional Medical Center. 

He was born on May 8, 1929, in Pender County, NC; the son of the late Jessie David and Omie English Mills.  Mr. Mills was also predeceased by his wife, Margaret Eunice Murray Mills and his brother, Myles Donald “Bud” Mills.

Mr. Mills served his country honorably in the US Army.  He was employed with J.P. Steven for more than 40 years. 

Surviving to cherish his memory  are his devoted children, Sandi McIntyre and husband, Gordie of Ivanhoe, Donna Ritter and husband, Barry of Hampstead, John Timothy “Tim” Mills, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Willard and Lisa Mills of Willard; grandchildren, Courtney McIntyre and Jabbar Pickett, Chance McIntyre and wife, Rachel, Kelsey Mills, Scott Mills and wife, Summerlin and Alarie Mills; great grandchildren, Gabi Pickett, Tyson Pickett, Jordan McIntyre and Brooks Mills; his canine companion, “Tucker”; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Tim dearly. 

Tim was a loving father and caring grandfather.  He was a hard worker and was a great provider for his family.  Tim enjoyed woodworking and spending time with those he loved, especially his children and grandchildren.  Being a people’s person, Tim never met a stranger and loved to be around other people. He had a big heart and made sure there was nothing that his family needed or wanted that he did not try to provide for them.  Tim was a great Daddy and PaPa who loved his family more than himself.  He will surely be missed but treasured memories of Tim will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. 

Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Brice Cemetery, NC Hwy 41, Wallace, NC 28466.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30 on Thursday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
