Joseph Rhine Obituary

Joseph Leroy Rhine, 83, of Castle Hayne, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.

He was born on March 27, 1937, in Altoona, PA, to the late Benjiman Franklin and Margaret Sarah (Hoffman) Rhine.

Joe retired from the US Air Force in 1975 after over 20 years of service to his country. He then worked at and retired from the Wilmington International Airport as a Public Safety Officer after 20 years of service.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Patricia Rhine Atkinson and husband, Corey; his grandson, Terry Ramsey and wife, Judy; and 4 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his wife, Latitia Savage Rhine in 2009; his brothers, Arthur Thomas, David Elwood, James Earl, Benjamin Paul, Raymond Dean, George Robert; and his sisters, Mary Bertha, Grace Edith, Betty Jane, Ellen Eilsabeth, Margorie Louise.

A memorial service in his honor will be held at a later date.
