Julia Hall Wells, 87, of Willard passed from her earthly life Friday, November 19, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born October 21, 1934 in Pender County to Crowell and Lila Wooten Hall. In addition to her parents, Julia was predeceased by her husband, James Dixon Johnson, who died in 1971. Julia later married Johnnie Wells who preceded Julia in death. Also, Julia was predeceased by her sisters, Vernell Hall Jones and Madeline Hall Jones.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Debra Lanier and Suzanne Graves (Loyd); grandchildren, Bradley Lanier (Nicki), Christopher Graves and Catherine Graves; great grandson, Bentley Lanier; sister, Hattie Hall Teachey (Larry); brother, Needham Hall (Sylvia) and other family members.
She was a loyal member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church, the church she loved and served in many capacities.
Many will remember Julia for her witty sense of humor, straight forward speaking, and radiant smile. She was an avid card player and for many years had fun playing Canasta. Most of all she was a fantastic Mama, grandmother, and sister. Her grandchildren and great grandson meant the world to her, each one being special. Julia was blessed to live life to the fullest right up to the very end. Julia’s passing makes our hearts sad, but we can rejoice in knowing she now resides in her heavenly home with family gone before.
Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, November 22, 2021, at Riverview Memorial Park with the Reverend Ralph Evans officiating.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside service.
