Karen Marie Horne

     Karen Marie Horne, 58, of Currie passed peacefully from her earthly life Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

     She was born October 30, 1962 in Lawton, OK and was the daughter of the late Cecil Horne and Evelyn Meares Horne.

     Karen is survived by her son, James McCourtie (Latricia); daughter, Kayla McCourtie; eight grandchildren with one additional granddaughter to be born in November; siblings, Sharon Mathis (Steve), Charles Horne (Jamie), and David Horne (Lisa); and many nieces and nephews.

     Karen was the sweetest, most loving mother, grandmother, and sister anyone could ever be blessed with. She was generous in every way and always wanted what was best for her family.  Karen enjoyed flowers, time spent at the beach, and traveling when she could. She also had a taste for good cuisine and was known as the family chef.  Many wonderful memories of her will be cherished forever and she will be greatly missed.

     The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at New Beginnings Community Church with service beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Pastor Salvatore Lana will conduct the service.

     Burial will follow in Davis Family Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
