Kimble Tatum Obituary

Kimble Lee Tatum, age 66, was welcomed to his heavenly home on October 5, 2024  by loved ones that have gone before him. He had family who dearly loved him by his side as he passed to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ.

He was born March 1, 1958, the son of Meredith Lee Tatum and Patricia Everett Tatum. In addition to his parents Kimble was preceded in death by his sister, Laury Tatum Smith; granddaughter, Shelby Frields; uncle, John D. Everett; aunt, Eleanor Stephens; and niece Evelyn Tatum.

Kimble is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne “Sue” Tatum; daughter, Jennifer Frields (Ryan); grandchildren, Joe Frields (Rachel), Payton Frields, and Faith Biros (Zack); brother, Michael Tatum (Darla); aunt, Sabra Nunalee; nephews, CT Smith (Tiffany), Jordan Tatum, and Travis Tatum (Heather); nieces, Kimberly Rivenbark Williams (Ronnie), Gabrielle Messeck (Josh), and Sarah Tatum; great nieces, Skyler Williams and Tatum Rae Smith; great nephews, Leelend Tatum and Mason Tatum; special cousin, Tony Mergenthaler (Libby); and many friends.

Kimble was born in Pender County and lived his entire life on the Tatum family property. Kimble loved his job with Fredrickson Trucking company until they went out of business. He then started working for Corning in Wilmington,  a job he also loved for 26 years. Kimble was an avid hunter and pier fisherman. Anything outdoors made him happy. He loved working in his yard which was his pride and joy. Kimble fell in love with his wife, Sue, the love of his life and her state of Montana. Kimble loved his family and after a courageous battle with cancer he is now reunited with his loved ones. If Kimble could give us advice, He would tell you to love your family and the Lord Jesus.
