Lacy Elwood Fields, Jr., age 46, of Wallace, left this world way too soon on Saturday, April 16, 2022.
He was born on August 21, 1975, in Sampson County and was the son of Lacy Elwood and Susie Yvonne Pennington Fields.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife, Ivy Susan Wells; their two sons, Sloan Alexander Fields and Kyle Zachary Fields, both of Rose Hill, his best friend and brother, Martin Fields and wife Wendy of Efland; nieces Ashleigh Fermanides, Keighlah Fields, Ashleigh Stokes and Chelsea Satterfield; sister-in-law Karen Wells of Rose Hill, his canine companion “Petey”, several great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Lacy dearly.
Lacy was a loving father who loved his boys with all his heart. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simplest things in life, but his greatest joy was family. With a big heart, Lacy was always willing to help others before helping himself. He was a people’s person, and he never met a stranger. With a talent for working with his hands, building, and fixing things, he was an excellent carpenter who took great pride in his work. Lacy was a kind and funny man who loved to make others laugh. He will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Rockfish Meadows, 133 Meadow Lane, Rose Hill, NC 28458.
