Lennie Lee (Robinson) Matthews

     Lennie Lee Robinson Matthews, age 68, flew on wings of angels to her heavenly home Sunday, December 8, 2024, at her home.

     She was born March 21, 1956, in Kinston, the daughter of the late Vance Talmadge Robinson and Ruth Todd Robinson.

     Lennie loved the Lord all her life and was a member of Peace Baptist Church. She was gifted in the world of art as her artistic abilities knew no boundaries. When Lennie was a senior in high school she received a full art college scholarship, but she chose Bobby, the love of her life. Lennie was a strong Christian lady who was an outstanding Wife, Mom, Granny, Great Granny, Sister, and Friend. She created a home filled with love, warmth,  and good cooking. Lennie’s joyful spirit in our family circle will truly be missed.

     She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Robert “Bobby” Earl Matthews, Jr.; daughter, Angelica “Angel” Morin (Alejandro); son, Brandon Matthews; grandchildren, Lori Craft (Chris Brotherton), Christopher Craft (Autumn), Ethan Melton, Brooklyn Morin, and Cameron Morin; great grandchildren, Tripp, Hailey, Malik, and Ariella; sisters, Margaret Collins and Diane Dorsey (Jimmy); many extended family and friends.

     Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. There will be a private family burial.
