Linda Woodcock Jones

     Linda Woodcock Jones, 59, passed swiftly and unexpectedly on Friday, July 11, 2025 while shopping in Wilmington.

     She was born October 11, 1965 in Burgaw, the daughter of Willie Harold Woodcock and Marcie Rivenbark Davis. In addition to her father Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Tyndall; and niece, Sabrina Jones.

     Linda is survived by her mother, Marcie Davis (Roger); son, Lloyd Gerald Jones II; daughters, Hailley McMillan (Jason) and Samantha Jones (Mathew Shorette); grandchildren, Bradley Theusch, Mathew Shorette II, Makaela McMillan, Allen Shorette, Carolina Jones, and Christian Morehouse; sisters Barbara Ezzell (Jeff), Teresa Woodcock, April Lockamy (James), and Ann Autry (Tracy); brothers, Willie Woodcock, Bill Ray, Joe Ray and Allen Davis; many nieces, nephews and fiends.

     For many years Linda has worked for the NC Department of Transportation (Roadside department) where she was currently working. In her work Linda made many lifelong friends.

     Linda was a wonderful Mom, Grandmama, Sister, Aunt and friend. Her grandchildren were sunshine and joy in her life and she enjoyed spending time with them. Linda never spent an idle moment as she enjoyed playing cards, watching OP Live, crocheting, and bird watching. Linda was loved and will be missed.

     Linda's last gift in her earthly life was the gift of life to others through Honor Bridge, an organ procurement organization.

     Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at Woodcock Cemetery with The Rev. Merrell McKoy conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
