Lisa Jones Burrows, 60, of Ivanhoe, left this world on Sunday, January 5, 2025, to go celebrate with her angels.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Guy Jones; her mother, Peggy Jones; her brother, Gary Jones; and all those before her.
Lisa was a true country girl spending most of her life in Ivanhoe, NC. She enjoyed fishing and all things nature related. She loved her family and friends and had the kindest soul. She spent a majority of her life being a devoted daughter to Peggy and taking care of her until her passing. She helped many of the elders in the country and anyone else who needed her, always putting others before herself and never thinking twice about it.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Gary Burrows and their fur baby Lily; her mother-in-law, Pam Burrows; her sisters-in-law, Teresa Jones, Penny Riggs (Tony), Trish Atkinson (Corey) and Cindy Fairfax; her nieces, who she shared a special lifelong bond with, Crystal Jones Johnson (Jamie), Brandy Jones Mathis (Sean); her niece, Heather Bradshaw (John); her nephews, Steven Smith (Tracy), Tony Riggs Jr. (Shawna), Terry Ramsey, Blaine Culp; her great nephews, Daniel Johnson, Shawn (Bubba) Johnson, Dillon Rocha, Zander Mathis, Ashton Mathis; her great niece, Alaynah Johnson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Though she is no longer with us, we will think of her every time the wind blows through the trees, when we see a deer crossing the road or when we have the chance to lose ourselves in nature and hear only the songs the birds are singing.
Lisa’s funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Barry Wells officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens in Wilmington.
