Surviving to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 22 years, Janet Paige Lanier; his children, Ray Lanier, Jr and wife Tammy of Rose Hill, Wayne Lanier and wife Diana of Tampa, Florida, Amber Brock and friend, Jeffrey of Willard and Donovan Brock and wife Stephanie of Clinton; grandchildren, Amber Wilson and husband Brian, Blair Davis and husband John, Preston Lanier, Brandon Lanier, Lauren Lanier, McKennah Lanier, Kai Lanier and Nevaeh Lanier, Justin Pierce and friend Carlie, Noah Brock, Connor Brock and Laynie Brock; Great Grandchildren, Tanner Brennan and wife Lindsey, Ripley Wilson and Elle Raegan Davis; great-great grandson, Hunter Pierce; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved Ray dearly.
Ray was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and friend. He was a simple man who enjoyed simple things, but his greatest joy was his family. Ray was the one who put his heart and soul into his family. Being a lifelong electrician, Ray took great pride in his work and went out of his way to help others. He was an avid outdoorsman and woodworker who loved to deer hunt and turkey hunt. Ray was also a person’s person and a great prankster. He enjoyed laughing and making others laugh with him. Although Ray was sometimes a man of few words, he was constant, and you never doubted his love. Ray will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever live in our hearts.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha with Reverend Wayne Lanier and Pastor John Fedoronko officiating.
