Loyd Dean "L.D." Jones

**NOTE: DUE TO THE WET WEATHER, THE COMMITTAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE CHAPEL OF QUINN-MCGOWEN FUNERAL HOME, WALLACE 

Loyd Dean Jones, Sr., age 82, of Jonestown Community of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Pender County on October 30, 1938 and was the son of the late Ben and Bertha Johnson Jones.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hensley Jones; son, Loyd "RedTop" Jones, Jr.and sister, Eleanor Costin.

Survivng are his children, Angela Jones, Benji Jones and wife, Jessica and Thomas Jones, all of Wallace; grandchildren, Ashlea Raynor, Robyn Britt and husband, Stuart, Sandy Jones and husband, Jason, Jimmy Jones and wife, Lisa, Ariel Jones, Stormy Jones, Skylar Jones and Serenity Jones; great grandchildren, Caylie Britt, Kaden Britt, Kynlee Singletary, Zane Singletary, Kobin Jones, Braxtan James, Natalie Raynor, Avery Raynor, Maddison Harper, Romeo Sandoval and Mason Jones; brother, Jack Jones and wife, Kathleen of Wallace; special friend, Susan Walters; his canine companion, Jitter Bug and his feathered friend, Tweety Bird and numerous extended family and friends that loved L.D. dearly. 

L.D., as he was affectionately called, was a great father, grandfather and brother.  He lenjoyed fishing and most of the time he came home with lots of nice fish.  He was a gentle man who loved his family and his friends.  L.D. loved to laugh and make others laugh along with him. He was a peoples person; not ever meeting a stranger. He was a hard worker who provided for his family.  With a big heart, it was a joy for L.D. to help others in need.  He always made sure his family had what they needed and was always there for each of them.  His family was his life.  L.D. will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.   

**Due to the excessive rain, commital service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel  -- Not at Riverview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 12 Noon at the funeral home.
