Lynn Davies Goddard, 89, of Rocky Point and formerly of New York passed gently into the glory of her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
She was born July 9, 1933 in Yonkers, NY, the daughter of Alexander Kenne` and Anne Wolz Kenne`. In addition to her parents Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, William Ronald “Ron” Davies (father of their three children, Kimon, Jennifer, and Christine) and also second husband, Herb Goddard.
Lynn is survived by her loving family, son, Kimon Davies; daughters, Jennifer Lynn Freer and Christine Ann Halas; grandchildren, Erik Davies (Megan), Ryan Davies, William Davies (Kyrsten), Brad DuBois, Alexander DuBois, and Wesley DuBois; great grandchildren, Max, Mia, Hope, Trent, Abby, Mattie, Emma, Riley, and Amberlyn; many extended family members and friends.
Lynn and husband, Ron, were owners of Village Greenhouse and Gift Shop in Millbrook, NY where Lynn was a noted floral designer. One of Lynn’s fondest memories was when she won the Gold Ribbon for a floral design at the state fair. Lynn and family spent many years in the New England states before moving South.
Lynn was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and she dearly loved her church family.
In addition to her creative talent with floral design Lynn enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her pound cakes were light as a feather and delectable to eat. Lynn was an extraordinary woman of God whose resounding faith and love for family was unmatched.
Lynn will be remembered for her caring, giving, and forgiving ways in life. Her favorite motto was “Never Give up” – “Never Say Can’t.”
The family will receive friends 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 506 S. McNeil Street, Burgaw, NC. The Rev. Cheryl Brainard will conduct the service. Following the service there was a reception in the fellowship Hall.
Lynn will be laid to rest beside her husband, Ron, in Beekman Cemetery, Poughquag, NY at a later date.
