Margaret Barnhill Prosper

Margaret Barnhill Prosper, 88, of Castle Hayne, NC, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020. She was born on March 26, 1931, in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Benjamin Faison Barnhill and Alma (Carter) Barnhill.

Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Guy William Prosper, Sr., a retired Pentecostal preacher.

In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by her son, Guy William Prosper, Jr. and wife, Diane; daughter, Sherri Prosper Parker and husband, Brent; sister, Mildred Parker; grandchildren, Bryan Prosper, Jonathan Prosper, Trey Wood, Joseph Wood, and Lucas Wood; and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Thorpe and Elizabeth Lockamy; and her brother, Buddy Barnhill.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wilmington, NC with Pastor Merrell McKoy officiating.
