Mary Ann Clendenin

Mary Ann Clendenin, 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, North Carolina.

She was born on July 30, 1937, in Washington, D.C to the late Jack Harris Linscott and Priscilla Dorothy Green.

Mary Ann enjoyed a long, wonderful life as a loving wife to the love of her life, Gary Clendenin, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a prolific quilter with Square One Quilters. She had the joy of companionship and comradeship with a group of friends called Pot Luck she’d had since middle and high school, getting together at least monthly for dinners. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wilmington, attending and enjoying the music regularly.

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Jeanne West and husband, Eric, Michael Clendenin, Amy Schmidheiser; her grandchildren, Connor Clendenin, Megan Clendenin, Emily Clendenin, Kiersten Kan and husband, Matt, Sara Schmidheiser, and numerous family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Clendenin; and her brother, Roger Linscott..

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary Ann’s honor to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
