Mary "Libby" Elizabeth (Lunsford) Williams

Mary “Libby” Elizabeth Williams, 88, of Wilmington, passed away on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born on May 8th, 1936, in Burgaw, North Carolina to the late Nathan Lunsford and the late Lillie Pickett Lunsford.

Libby enjoyed cooking, sewing and flowers and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Williams; her daughter, Janice Shutz Perkins and her husband, Carl; her sister-in-law, Denise Latta and her husband, Paul; her grandchildren, Christopher Shutz and his wife, Amanda, Jeremy Shutz; and her 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Libby was also preceded in death by her son, Nathan Roy Shutz; her daughter, Veronica Shutz; her brother, Jimmy Lunsford; and several beloved dogs.

Libby's memorial service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Merrell McKoy officiating. 

A private burial will take place at Seagate Cemetery in Wilmington.
