Melvin served his country proudly and honorably in the US Army. For many years he was the owner and operator of Ukiah Roofing Company in Ukiah, CA. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Melvin was a hard working man of many interests. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing (including deep sea fishing), skin diving, and many other fun outdoor sports. In California Melvin always maintained a big, fruitful orchard and garden where he grew the biggest, delectable tomatoes that Adella canned along with the many other veggies that Melvin grew. All holidays were royally celebrated by Melvin with lots of food and large groups (often 30 to 40 folks) of family and friends. It is well noted that Melvin had a well lived enjoyable life. Most of all, Melvin treasured his family. Melvin was dearly loved and will truly be missed by family and a wide circle of friends.
