Mildred Doreen Davis

Mildred Doreen Davis, 67, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Sunday, October 20, 2019.

Born on November 12, 1951 in Lenoir County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William and Lucille Sanderson Davis. Doreen was also predeceased by her brother, Tommie Davis.

Doreen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wallace where she faithfully attended.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her sister, Martha Davis Vega; her sister-in-law, Marie Davis; nieces and nephews, Robert “Robbie” Davis, Barry Davis, Tom-Marie Davis, April Teachey, Kevin Teachey and Timothy Teachey and numerous extended family and friends that loved Doreen dearly. 

Doreen was a special lady who loved her family, her church and her Lord.  She enjoyed the simplest things in life but her greatest joy was being around people.  Being a people’s person, Doreen would often visit neighbors and friends.  No matter where you saw Doreen, she would always make her way to speak and fellowship, if only for a few minutes.  Her favorite past time was “Seek and Find” puzzles and eating out.  Doreen loved to go to church.  If her church wasn’t having service, she would find a church to attend on Sunday nights and Wednesday nights.  Doreen’s funny wit and joyful spirit will surely be missed.  Treasured memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00pm Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with a time of visitation immediately following the service until 8:30pm.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha.
